MY USA FUNDRAISING RUN PROJECT 2024

From March 10 to June 17, I crossed the United States on foot—from Los Angeles to New York City—in 100 days… at least one marathon every day.

FROM LA TO NYC

Across the USA in 100 days

This ambitious project challenged me not only physically but also mentally.

With this real, personal experience, the dream I had as a young girl finally came true after more than forty years. I am driven by my love of nature, my interest in people and other cultures, and the freedom this sport gives me.

I am the first Polish woman to cross the USA in this way!

I also want to inspire other people to realize their dreams and goals with discipline and perseverance by recognizing their own strengths and resources, tapping into this treasure, and daring to push themselves to or beyond their own limits.

MY DONATION PROJECT

Specifically, your donation supported Zonta International’s commitment to combating child marriage

This time, I dedicated my run to the concerns of disadvantaged women and girls with the support of the Zonta Club in Pforzheim. This club is part of a global non-partisan, non-denominational, and ideologically neutral association of professional women in leadership positions – Zonta International.

Your donation supported Zonta International's efforts to end child marriage. Worldwide, 21% of girls are married at a young age, depriving them of their childhood and their right to education. Zonta International has been working to end child marriage since 2014 and has been working with UNFPA and UNICEF USA on the "Global Programme to End Child Marriage" since 2018. About Zonta

Zonta was founded on November 8, 1919, in Buffalo, New York, under the leadership of theater critic and columnist Marian de Forest and publisher and human rights activist Mary E. Jenkins. Today, Zonta is represented in 71 countries worldwide, with approximately 34,000 members in more than 1,200 clubs. Zonta sees itself as a modern network for the support and advancement of women in the workplace and society. Zonta stands for friendship and mutual aid.

As part of a global network, Zonta is involved in local, national, and international service projects. This is also the case in Pforzheim. Zonta members pursue a common goal: improving the status of women in the political, legal, economic, and professional spheres.

Jola's run ended in New York, where Zonta's work began almost 105 years ago.
